I was just messing around on my bass, and was practicing some tapping exercises. I also filled out the practice log for today.

CLASSROOM (THEORY & ANALYSIS) 9-9:45AM

I want to remember that the bass on a piano can sound better when you are going the opposite direction of the higher part.

OUTSIDE (INSPIRATION / IDEAS) 9:45-10:15AM

I listened to all 3 videos and I thought the Carol Kaye videos were super interesting. Also the James Jamerson video sounded really good and very unique.

LAB (THEORY PRACTICED) 10:15-11:15AM

I didn’t know about the chromatic notes before, and I just learned that. I messed around with it for a bit and hook pad and it was pretty fun.

LUNCH 11:15-11:45AM

CONTROL ROOM (RECORDING & MIXING) 12:45-1:45PM

The recording went fine, it took a while to get the hang of it but I got it. I kinda altered the riff above a little bit but it was still on the E string.

OUTSIDE (INSPIRATION / IDEAS) 1:45-2PM

Watch How to Quickly Improve Focus – Andrew Huberman

Write a brief reflection on your mental meanderings.

I didn’t know that adderall was an addictive drug that has a probability of abuse if not prescribed, and it is similar to amphetamine. I used to take prescribed adderall for my ADHD, and that was surprising to learn that.

STAGE (SHARE) 2-2:30PM

I picked bass today, but for this time, we listened to song from an anonymous classmate, and we commented on it and talked about how to make it better.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

I learned new bass tabs for a song I like. I solved a problem by fixing the zipper on my lunchbox because it got stuck at lunch.
